Local Company Forgoes Holiday Party to Make Nonprofit Donation

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 15, 2010EFI Recycling, a commercial recycling and brokerage company based in Portland, Ore., has made a $10,000 donation to the Children’s Cancer Association (CCA). The donation was made to CCA in lieu of the company’s annual holiday party.

“It has always been important to us as a company to give back, and with so many in need, we wanted to ensure that our donation would go directly to the people who need it,” said Scott Jenkins, vice president and COO of EFI Recycling. “The CCA has been incredible to work with and we look forward to partnering with them for future projects.”

The CCA offers award-winning programs and resources to seriously ill children and families who live or seek treatment in Oregon or SW Washington. CCA programs that will be funded through EFI Recycling’s donation include JoyRX, Chemo Pal, Life Support, Caring Cabin and Community Heroes.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation made by EFI Recycling and the Jenkins family,” said Mary Turnia, president and COO of the CCA. “This gift will go toward granting several ill children with holiday wishes and special care throughout the year.”
